Week One Disscusion Cuestion free essay sample

There are many issues in the news today to which can apply the scientific method. How could you use an issue from the headlines to learn more about scientific method? The scientific method: is a tool that helps scientist-and the rest of us solve problems and determine answers to questions in a logical format. It provides step-by-step general directions to help us work through problems. If u use five steps to the scientific method: identify the problem, research a problem, formulate a hypothesis, conduct an experiment, reach a conclusion u will learn more about scientific method. What event in the headlines could be used for discovery science? Explain. Climate change endangers common species. A wide variety of plants and animals are likely to become much less common if something isn’t done to avert the worst effects of a warming climate. Under a ‘’business as usual’’ scenario, where greenhouse gas emission aren’t significantly reduced, about 50% of plants and one-third of animals are likely to vanish from half of the places. Explain how an understanding of basic chemistry might help scientist cure several diseases in the future. Can u identify any areas where understanding body chemistry is a hot topic of discussion today? Explain your answer. Well, what is boil down to is that everything is constructed of atoms, which are bound together in structures called molecules. Chemistry is the study of constructions of and interaction between these structures. Therefore, if you understand the chemical structure of a critical part of a disease causing organism you have taken major step in funding a cure. Body chemistry is a hot topic in Health. Balancing body chemistry and hormones trough diet, lifestyle and nutritional supplementation. This was obviously a hot topic and as a result it race lots of questions about who needs to get lab test done, which lab test to do, where to get them, and how to interpret the tests once you get them back. 4. Select at least two cell structures. What hypothesis could you form to explain what would happen to the cell or the organism if each cell structure were damaged or destroyed? My first cell structure is the mitochondria. In the mitochondria is here Acetyl Co-A, a break down of glucose, is put through the Krebs cycle and produces ATP through the electronic transport process. If this process was to be stopped or effected in some way we would die almost instantly. For example Cyanide interrupts the electronic transport stage that occurs in the mitochondria and is why poison is effective to death. My hypothesis for a damaged mitochondria would be: Without a fully functioning mitochondria an organism would die without minutes due to lack of energy in a single cell to create further process. My second cell structure is the ribosome they make protein from amino acids. In the ribosome amino acids along with RNA from DNA, are combined creating a peptide chain, protein is needed in the body for hormones, enzymes, nerves, tissues, bones, and antibodies. A damaged ribosome could create incomplete proteins or none at all. More or less without ribosome body will not function properly and incomplete proteins mine as well be no protein at all. My hypothesis for a damaged ribosome would be: without a fully functioning ribosome and organisms would age at a much faster rate with many degenerative disease. What energy systems are responsible for living organisms acquire energy and transform energy into other forms? Organisms need energy to survive. Some organisms are capable of absorbing energy from sunlight and using it to produce sugar and other organic compounds such as lipids and proteins. The sugars are then used to provide energy for the organisms. The process, called photosynthesis, is used by plants and some protists, bacteria, and blue-green algae.
